Official Journal of the AFM
The International Musician is an award-winning monthly magazine dedicated to the professional musician. Our readers work in all aspects of the music industry and in every musical genre. They play in small clubs and huge arenas; they’re members of respected symphonic organizations; they’re music educators; and they’re recording artists. Our publication seeks to answer the questions on every musician’s mind, to make the “business” part of the music business easier to navigate, and to promote the work of our own union as well as our brothers and sisters represented by unions across the US and Canada.
Music and Union News
Every issue of the International Musician is packed with timely news items relevant to working musicians. We address issues such as music piracy, royalty payments, media consolidation, and the effects of technology on our livelihoods. We’re on top of legislative changes that will affect the work of musicians in the US and Canada, and we highlight the work of AFM members who are at the forefront of the fight to protect the rights of all creative professionals.
